Tenoh Haruka is half of the most controversial couple in Sailormoon. She is also considered the leader of the Outer Senshi. In the dub, "Amara" is a bland, monotonous...bore. She sounds like she's on the verge of yawning with every other word. (StarFire's really pissed about this, because she loves Haruka and thinks they totally screwed up her character...Especially since no one other than Ogata-sama could ever portray her!)

The relationship between Haruka and Kaioh Michiru is never fully explained, either in the series or in the manga. (Though in the horrendous dub, they are "cousins"... ::cringe::) Some speculate that they are just very close friends while others believe that the two are an item. (I, personally, think the latter is true - actually, Ogata Megumi, Haruka's seiyuu, was asked about this in an interview. She replied that she asked the producer, "What is the relationship between these two? How am I to approach their lines?" and he told her to consider and treat them as a married couple. The first time the Inner Senshi met Haruka, they thought she was a handsome man. (In fact, most of them have a crush on her, especially Minako...The episode where they find out she's a girl is great - she goes, "I never said I was a man...") Haruka generally does nothing to discourage this idea. She talks, acts, and dresses like a boy. (She even goes so far as to wear the boy's uniform at her highschool.)

Her character is associated with the wind, as her greatest aspiration is to be like the wind. Thus, Haruka prefers activities where she can be fast and free. She races motorcycles, drives sports cars, and is a high school track star (undefeated, I might add...).

Her main weapon is her Talisman, the Space Sword, which was hidden in her heart crystal and released when she committed suicide out of grief when Sailorneptune died saving her from Eudial. As a Senshi she is very dedicated, and does whatever it takes to get the job done, even if it means sacrificing herself of those she cares about.
