I've
noticed recently that I'm answering a lot of the same questions in e-mails.
I decided to compile this list of some of the most frequently asked questions
I get and their answers... Please be sure to check on here before e-mailing
me with any questions or comments you might have about the site. Should
I find any more questions that are being asked of me a lot, I will add them
to this list.
I make all my own graphics myself. (I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0, in case anyone was wondering.) I do not use graphics factories or pre-made layouts offered in webmaster shops.

No. Sorry, but I'm really swamped with all my other work, and I don't have the time or the inclination to make entire layouts, graphical elements, or other such things for people's pages. (I have a hard enough time keeping mine up-to-date! Besides, now that I'm finally working a bit in web/multimedia design, if you really want me to make you a layout you can pay me by the hour like everyone else.) There are plenty of great sites on the web that offer these services for free - just look around for them! You can try Anipike, or you can check other people's pages in their credits to see where they got their layouts. I also will not be able to help teach you how to make graphics. I get so many people asking me to teach them how to make banners, graphics, and the like that I can't deal with it. It's through trial and error, and nearly impossible to explain via e-mail or instant messenger. Play around with your graphics programs and you'll come up with something passable eventually. That's how I learned.

My original versions of FMOCT were written out entirely by hand in raw HTML in Microsoft Notepad. I have since started to use Macromedia Dreamweaver 4.0 with additional hand-scripting for fix-ups. Dreamweaver is a professional piece of software, and is not freeware, so please don't ask me for a copy. You might be able to find a demo at the Macromedia site, or on download.com, but I can guarantee you that it will have a thirty-day or so trial period after which you can no longer use the program. You might find a link to a "cracked" or "patched" version somewhere (a version that someone has altered so that it can be used as a full program either by supplying a "freeware" name and registration number or by other means), but please be aware that using cracked / patched programs is highly illegal. If you're caught with it on your computer, you can be fined mucho dinero ($50,000 was the last figure I was told, but I don't know how accurate it is) for each cracked program and can face jail time as well. Just a warning.
If you're serious about web design, I suggest shelling out the $300 to Macromedia for a full legal copy of their web design package which includes Macromedia Flash, Fireworks, and Freehand. As a side note, I cannot teach you how to use Dreamweaver, nor tell you tips or tricks. Please don't ask - I don't have the time or patience. Play with it and you'll figure it out. It's not really that difficult.

No. HTML can be tricky sometimes, and I'm not going to become an HTML-help site. If you're really interested in learning HTML or getting help with things, I suggest HTMLgoodies.com, or do a search on Yahoo or Google for pages that offer the help you're looking for. I've tried numerous times to explain to people how to put sounds on their pages (which I don't recommend, by the way - but you can read all about that particular issue in my FMOCT Web Tips & Tricks), how to add background images, or how to make image maps, and it's far too aggravating to do via e-mail.

Sure - you can use my image gallery pictures for whatever you want. They're not really mine - I don't own them or claim any rights to them. You want to print them out and put them on your locker? Go right ahead. It would be nice if you'd credit my site as a place you got images from if you're planning to redistribute them on an internet site or bulletin board / mailing list, but it's not required. (I always try to link wherever I get images from, but, unfortunately, I was collecting the pictures long before I ever had a site to put them on, so I don't know where I got most of them. Also, I have friends that just save really nice big pictures they think I might not have, so I get things from all over the place. Some of the pictures were scanned in by me, but the majority were found on other sites.) Just for the record, though, please don't take all my images for use on your site. Taking a few here and there is fine, but just adding my entire gallery to yours is a bit rude.
Some things I do ask that you not use are the following: Don't take any of the layout-graphics I use exclusively on my site (such as the splash page images, and pieces of my layout itself, especially this version, as the character drawings are my personal fanart - I know most of you are considerate enough to know this, but I have to mention it), the images I use to link to the character bios, the pictures in the bios, headings of seiyuu and Senshi pages, etc. I spent a lot of time editing these and creating some from scratch. None of the pieces of my JavaScript games may be taken and edited, nor may my SenshiTime Webpage Clocks - they are for free use on webpages, but only with the understanding that they may not be modified in any way or redistributed.
Also, please don't take my seiyuu pictures or the kanji (Japanese graphical text - the names and Senshi headings from the Character Bios section, as well as the seiyuu names in the Seiyuu Information pages and seiyuu profiles) gifs you find on this site without getting my permission first!! Please! I had to spend hours meticulously retouching photos and adding borders and adjusting colors and such to make them nice for my pages, so please be considerate! I used Microsoft Internet Explorer's Japanese IME to write out the name kanji, but I saved each one as an image file and cut it out so people without Japanese text support could see the names in original Japanese. If you really want kanji images on your site, please do it yourself, or at least ask me before you go taking them! (I'm not normally bitchy, really - I just don't like it when people take things others have spent a lot of time to do and just use them without asking.)
Last thing that cannot be taken off this site and posted on other sites - the wallpapers and Winamp skins. These are files created by me and my partners, ChibiCree and The Mattousai, and are being hosted on this page from our site Anime Revolution. If you want to know if you can host any of these, please go to AR and read our policies first!
Absolutely not! Just because someone stops using a site element that they created/edited does not give anyone license to reuse it without their permission. The same applies to full layouts and fanart as much as single page elements. None of my past graphics or layouts may be reposted anywhere without my express prior permission.

This is rather an odd question, but I have been asked it quite a few times nonetheless. If you want to use the general stats (blood type, likes/dislikes, favorites/least favorites, transformations/attacks, etc.), I don't care, since most of them are common knowledge, but please don't use the character descriptions without permission. I spent a lot of time writing them. (Also it would sound very strange on your page, since I'm sure most of you don't talk like me. I tend to get confused when people go from using sentences like, "Dis iz Trista or Sailor Plutow. Shez da bomb. Wanna know why shez kewl? Click hear!" to "Sailorpluto is the mysterious and subdued guardian of the Door of Time." Granted, not everyone talks as strangely as in my example, but I've seen entire sites written out like that. I will, on occasion, give permission for my descriptions to be used in other formats with credits (such as for a Sailormoon encyclopedia CD-ROM I was helping with, and for a fanfiction here or there). Ask me first and provide me with details of exactly what you want them for and what you're going to do to them before you just take them. I reserve the right to say no, but I really rarely ever do. I'm pretty much happy as a clam if I'm credited with links.
Also, as I state in the section about using images from my site, please do not take and use the images that go with the bios (the Senshi head-shots, so to speak). Though it may not look like it, I spent a lot of time on each of those. If you want to use the kanji name images, please ask me first!! I spent a long time writing all those out, making sure I was using the correct kanji/hiragana, and cutting them up for people with no Japanese text support. Finally, sorry, but I'm not going to give anyone permission to use the name headings at the top of each of the pages. It's not that difficult to make one for yourself, or to find a page that offers headings.

If you didn't see on the JavaScript games page itself, these games are to be offered on this website only. The reason for this is that I have taken and modified free JavaScripts (see The JavaScript Source if you want the originals) so that the games would resemble something for Sailormoon. I created all the graphics for these games as well, and do not want them used on any other site.
If you want to offer a link to FMOCT's JavaScript games on a site, mailing list, or bulletin board, the link must be to FMOCT's main page (http://fly.to/themoonkingdom.com). (You can text link or pick up a banner in the Link-Free section.) You may tell people where to go on the site to get the games, but the games pages are not to be linked directly, downloaded, or hosted on any other sites. If you see any of FMOCT's games hosted on another site, direct-linked from another site, or linked directly (link goes to the game or main game page instead of main site) on a mailing list or bulletin board you are a member of, please let me know the name of the person (and e-mail if from a mailing list), and site that the link is on.

As stated on my JavaScript games pages, I will not be available to teach people how to modify game scripts. Most of the game scripts at The JavaScript Source tell you how to simply install the files, and modifying their provided graphics is fairly easy, even if you only change the colors to match your site. You may not get exactly all the intricacies that you would like, but it should be better than nothing. You can do a search on the Internet for a place that will customize scripts for you, or you can look for a place offering lessons, but I am not able to help in these areas. If you want the original game scripts they are not to be downloaded from FMOCT. You must download them in their original format from The JavaScript Source's website. (This is due to the fact that not only have I modified the scripts, but some of the scripts require multiple handlers in the header, body, and other tags, and without these handlers, the games will not function. If you get them in whole from the The JavaScript Source, you will have no problems.)
All graphics used in the games offered on FMOCT have been custom-created by me to work both with this site and the Sailormoon genre. None of the graphics used in these games may be used as templates for other games. (Template means you take my graphics and recolor them, or only slightly alter them for your personal use on your sites.) If you want to have graphics that match your site, graphics for any game requiring them are provided at The JavaScript Source along with the codes - modify those. I changed some sizes in the codes, so if you don't know where to go to fix that in your downloaded codes, your games will not work right anyway. Trust me, it's easier for you to just go there and get them for yourself.

If you've gone to the downloads section and gotten any of the emulated games, you'll notice that I did not include a link to directly download the ZSNES emulator that I have recommended. This is for several reasons. The first is that I would rather link the site that offers the ZSNES emulator directly, so that you can get the most up-to-date version when you get the games. I do not check the site offering this emulator for updates, so this saves me the hassle of having to try to offer the latest version. The second reason I do not offer this emulator directly is a legal one. While, as I've said, ROMs are legal under certain circumstances, you are not supposed to directly offer both a ROM and an emulator on the same site. For these reasons, I have chosen to offer you a link to a site that offers numerous emulators for numerous systems - I have linked it so it should go directly to the ZSNES' page, however, if upon visiting the site, you decide you would rather use a different emulator, you definitely have that option. Files downloaded from this site should also come with a readme file that will tell you the basic commands to use the new emulator. Finally, regarding the ZSNES, I am NOT the creator of the ZSNES, and I am not available to offer technical support on how to run it. Please search the ZSNES site for the help you need.
No - I have chosen to provide access for you to download these games, and provided a link to an emulator site where you can get what you need to play them, but I do not have the time to answer everyone who asks me how to play each of the games. When I played them, I figured them out on my own, which is the best way I know to learn something. Also, I do not have any translations for these games (with the exception of the Nakayoshi game, which has a translation patch, and the Another Story ROM, which is already translated into English). I do not know of any sites offering these ROMs in a translated format. (If you run across any and would like to share them with others, please let me know the site's URL and I'll get them to provide for everyone.)
Again, as to operating instructions, the only thing I can tell you is this: press buttons. You'll figure out the basic gist of it eventually. I don't know all the exact button functions for the games off the top of my head, since I very rarely have the opportunity to sit down and play them, and I haven't been able to find any sites offering FAQs or walkthroughs for any of the games (besides walkthroughs for Another Story). Of course, I haven't devoted a lot of time to extensively searching, so there might be some sites out there still offering them. You can try doing a search on Google, or asking in a IRC room or something, but as far as I know, the only sites that used to have them are down now. So sorry, you're on your own for gameplay.

If you were here in the good old days when I offered rotating mp3s, you might still have some of them hanging around on your hard drive. If you really want to offer the mp3s on your pages, that's fine. (It would be nice if you'd list me as the source on your page, but it's not required as I don't offer them anymore, and most people are looking for more songs to download...)
Another thing - I spent a lot of time making the ID3s and filenames on my Mp3s nice and readable. You may change the filenames or ID3s as you wish, but you should NOT put your URL anywhere in the ID3s unless you personally ripped the file from a CD you own. I don't include my URL anywhere in them because I don't claim any rights to them, but some people put their address into the ID3s so others will know where to go to get more music. Personally, I hate it when people do that because it disrupts my nice little file-naming system and I always delete any URLs anyway. I'm a bit of a neat-freak when it comes to my computer files...
I have decided to stop doing so altogether.
The reason I've come to this decision is simply because there are so many legal considerations involved. People don't heed the 24-hour rule, and more and more companies are cracking down on webmasters that offer their mp3s for download, even as samples. I'm currently hosted on my employer's server (thanks, Tim!) and I don't want to get him or myself in trouble... Also, should I have to change servers anytime in the future and get stuck on one that limits filetypes, I don't want my service to go down with five hundred people still waiting for me to post songs for them, and still expecting me to deliver if I get stuck on another server that has banned Mp3 files.

I cannot upload any episodes for you - I don't have them on my computer, and even if I did, I don't have the space or bandwidth to offer episode downloads. I bought all my episodes as fansubs before VKLL stopped offering them because they were licensed.
Also, you will be hard-pressed to find anyone offering downloadable anime episodes - most hosts just don't offer the kind of space full episode downloads would require, and since Sailormoon is actually quite an old series, it's very overlooked by people offering anime episode downloads. Most people offering downloads usually have newer series that are just coming out in Japan. The only place I ever saw that offered downloads of all the seasons of Sailormoon (including the first two), was MarioKnight's Bishoujo Online - but I've never actually seen the download links working. There are people that remotely host episodes for him, but every time I've ever checked, their servers weren't working, or their episodes had been deleted.
The best place I could suggest to look for full-episode downloads for any season of Sailormoon (including live-action episodes) would be on an IRC channel. You'll need a client to connect (like mIRC from download.com), and you'd have to know a channel to look on. You're on your own as far as channel lists are concerned - I can't use IRC because of my firewall, so I don't know any channels offering full-episode downloads of ANYTHING offhand. (You can probably ask around in a main chatroom for people who know of channels offering specific downloadables.) Be forewarned that IRC can mess up your connection if you're not careful - if your parents are running a firewall or hacker-protection program, IRC might set it off, so get their permission before installing it. Also, it can leave your computer open to hackers if you don't know how to set it up right. Downloading files from IRC can take a very long time, so unless you have a cable modem, I wouldn't even suggest trying to download anything - most administrators of IRC channels offering downloads will kick people with slow connections because they don't want you tying up their rooms while you're trying to download. Most files are given a specific number of people that can download at one time, and high-speed connections are given priority; there is still usually a cap on the speed at which you can download, so even with cable modems it might take you awhile to download, since full-episode files tend to be hundreds of megabytes each.
Barring that, I don't really think you'll really find anyone among the general population of the Internet who offers full downloads of any of the episodes, let alone all of them. Episodes are very large movie files, and not only do most servers limit your filetypes and sizes, but webmasters have to worry about people direct-linking their files and eating up all their bandwidth - or even people downloading five movies at a time. Unless they're paying big bucks for excellent private hosting or running a server off their own machine, it's very unlikely that someone would be able to handle the kind of traffic that full episode downloads would cause.

To be honest, I have most of the colored manga images for Sailormoon in existence - at least that I've come across on the web. I don't have all the images from all the artbooks, but there really aren't that many more that I could include. I don't put much of the black and white images, because I don't really collect them - I like to make things with the images I have, and there isn't much you can do with black and whites besides color them... Besides, there are entire sites devoted simply to black and white manga image galleries. I don't want to offer anime images, as they are usually of less-than-incredible quality - besides, almost every Sailormoon site in existence has the same images. I am not going to offer doujinshi (professional fan-manga) or fanart galleries, either, because a lot of doujinshi images are either a little - or a lot - on the adult side (especially where Sailormoon is involved - the short-sailor-skirt phenomenon is insanely popular in the doujinshi world), and I don't want to get into the whole mess of having to accept fanart or post my own (since I don't really draw that much by hand anymore).
If
I ever find any more good-quality colored manga images for my galleries,
I will do small updates now and then, but don't expect any more huge updates
unless a new artbook is released (which is very unlikely) or I scrounge
up enough money to buy one that has a lot of images I don't have up yet.

Those files are hosted by Anime Revolution, my affiliate site that I'm co-webmistress of. I don't update them on my site, but I offer them as a taste of what Anime Revolution offers. (It takes long enough writing the code to update AR - let alone rewrite it for FMOCT. I'd rather just have you go there and see what's new. I chose some of our most popular (or at least my favorite) SM wallpapers and skins for FMOCT to offer you a glimpse into the veritable horde of anime/Jpop/game goodness offered there.

If you were here in the good ol' days when I offered StarFire's Banner Service (or if you were in the really good ol' days when I started that little thing on Paul's SM mailing list...), you'll recall that I used to take requests for banners. I recently closed that service down - firstly because it took me a very long time to get the requests finished, secondly because people were very ungrateful about the whole free service (usually displayed in rudeness - "make me this now" - or asking for excesses of 15 banners - and even asking for graphics, though I explicitly state in quite a few areas on my site that I am not a graphics service), and, lastly because that's what Anime Revolution is for...
If you don't know (how could you not - I only talk about it every five minutes or so...), AR is another site that I co-run that offers custom Winamp skins, wallpapers, and banners. There are three of us running AR, and since banner requests are very small, they are usually completed in a very short amount of time, as opposed to me trying to find them all in my inbox and having to take time off my AR duties to do extraneous banner requests. If you are interested in getting a free anime / manga, game, seiyuu, or Jpop banner made for your page, please go to Anime Revolution, and be sure to read the FAQ there before ordering!!!

Why
did you stop offering awards to win?
Because I just couldn't keep up with them. I felt really bad, because I would have a bunch of people waiting and waiting for their awards, and never have the time to sit down, go through the applications, personalize the awards (since I prefer giving out awards that can't be taken and just put on anyone's site and say they won them), and mail them out. (Especially since at the time I made the final decision I couldn't connect to the Internet from my computer and had to travel up and down two flights of stairs with various floppies and zip disks to transfer files from my computer to either my fiance's or parents' and back.) I decided it was just better to close off that portion of the site. I don't know if this is going to be permanent, or if it might make a comeback somewhere in the future, but for now, that section's gone the way of the blue-footed booby.
I'm doing much better with this - the last three affiliates I ended up adding got e-mail answers in less than two days! Still, I get upwards of 300 e-mail messages every day (most of them spam that has to be weeded out), and I don't have the vast hours required to sit and actually answer all the "real" e-mail immediately.
If you submit an application, I will get back to you - either way, whether I decide to affiliate you or not. If I decide to affiliate you, you can add me to your list then - you'll be added to mine before I write you. If I decide not to affiliate you, I'll let you know and let you know why. So far I haven't turned anyone down, but I'm really going to try not to affiliate just any old page. Make sure you read through the affiliation rules first and see that your site meets most of them. Just be patient, please. I'm not ignoring you. If, for some reason you go for like two months without hearing from me at all, just e-mail me nicely and ask if I got your request. I might have accidentally deleted it. Please do not, however, e-mail me another affiliation request - that gets me confused. Only do that if I tell you I never got your first one.

Kazeninaru.net and Anime-Revolution.net's webspace is currently being provided by my wonderful employer, Timothy Falconer at The Immuexa Corporation. He generously offered to host my portfolio and all my other sites for a small fee of research that I do for him. He does not accept other sites for hosting unless they are employed by or clients of Immuexa.com. Thanks Tim! You're a lifesaver!
I am not hosted on Geocities, Tripod, Angelfire, or any other server. My page was not made at any of these places, either. (I have to use Bravenet for form submission. This is because I can't telnet into my CGI bin through our firewall and I haven't gotten around to finding a different way to get in there and make my forms on Kaze...) This is why the only popup you will see on this or any of the other sites is our V3 URL popup, and that's only if you use the V3, and one tell-a-friend popup for Anime Revolution.
Neither of my domains - Kazeninaru.net (The Kazeninaru Network - host domain of most of my various and sundry sites) or Anime-Revolution.net (Anime Revolution's new domain) will accept hostees. I have to pay for my server space, and I don't think my employer would appreciate me giving other people access to his work server - not to mention the fact that there are maybe two other people besides the Kaze hostees that I would TRUST to have full access to my files... Therefore, neither domain will be accepting hosting applications at this time, and never will. Also, we are not able to host mp3s or any other types of multimedia files for anyone, so please don't ask.
If you're looking for affordable site hosting, try MyAnimeCompanion.com - a site that hosts anime websites for free. Yes, you heard me - free. As of the time we were looking into hosting with them, you would get 2 gigs worth of space, no restrictions, and at the time they allowed any type of files. (Normal files under 400k can be uploaded to your account - anything over 400k can go on a special server.)
They host domains for free (they're working on providing e-mail forwarding as well), but if you don't have a domain and still want hosting, they will give you a subdomain (ie, yoursite.myanimecompanion.com). They are working on a lot of other neat-sounding features like a staff-finder for large sites, contests, the acceptance of donations from your visitors, and an rpg-maker. You have to apply to be hosted, and obviously, you have to have an anime-related site. If you're looking for a host, try them. There is only one small banner you have to put on your page (and not even all your pages at that), and one popup ad that appears after your site is closed. No weird frames, no popups every thirty seconds or every time someone visits a new page, no Geocities branding, nada. You won't find a better deal - believe me; I've looked. Extensively.
One note in warning - I have heard of quite a few people who have had problems with MAC - but then, it's free, so you have to be willing to take a chance, I guess. We had our sites hosted there ever so briefly, and they were in a testing phase, so our account was deleted twice. Then we got other hosting. I've tried visiting them a few times in the last few weeks to see what they offer specifically, but their site seems to be down again. I don't know if it's permanent.
If you're just interested in hosting with no pop-ups or ad banners/branding, try Brinkster.com. Last I checked, the offer 50 megs of space and no ads whatsoever. You still can't upload mp3s, and there might be a limit on upload-file-sizes or file-types, but I'm not certain. I do know that their URLs can be a bit hard to remember as they add a random number after www (like http://www23.brinkster.com/joesmiley), but if you sign up for a free V3 URL, you should have an easier time remembering your URL. The only other yucky thing about Brinkster is you can't upload via FTP - just through their browser system, but some people don't mind that so much.
I will warn you of one other site: do not host your site at HostOnce.com. They offer enticing hosting for $4.95 a month - unlimited space and bandwidth and free domain registration, but they are extremely unprofessional, and I can assure you that they will screw you over.
We had our domains hosted there for a time - we had also regsitered our "first" second domain, Chibitachi.net there - which, as you may have noticed, is now defunct. Since they register the domain for you, you don't get to keep it if you get kicked off the server - which we did, without warning. We had tried to comply with their terms of service, deleting all our Mp3s, ROMs, and other "illegal" material that most free servers prohibit. However, they proceeded to completely delete our accounts and say that we were violating the TOS by having images on our sites. They said that all our images were "illegal copyrighted anime material". We are still having problems with them to this day - they are still charging us for their service even though we have been off their servers for over two years, and they refuse to respond to any of our repeated e-mails.

I currently have one more fanfiction in the works, but it's going to be huge. It's spanning the entire Stars series (the Galaxia arc, at least - I don't know if I'm going to include the Nehelenia arc) from Haruka and Michiru's perspective. It'll feature actual dialogue and action in my words as taken from the episodes, as well as my own filler-story. It's going to be released in parts, like Symphony was originally. (Just as a side note, I've already started on it, but I'm doing the parts a little out of order, so I won't start posting until I get the first part written. Which will be God-knows-when since I've hit a major brick wall. Another side note, it's going to be a lot longer than anticipated for the first part since I lost all that I had in a reformatting mishap on my computer...)
It will probably be about a PG-13 rating, no worse than the fanficitions already posted.

I love them. That's why. I love to write their characters because they're so fun together. The next story is going to have everyone in it, though - including the Starlights. I've gotten a few letters from people telling me they liked how I wrote Haruka and Michiru in my other fics and that I keep them in character well. (Of course, I've gotten one that said I have them horribly out of character, but that was the only one I've gotten... ::shrug:: I think I did a good job, regardless - they weren't supposed to be entirely "in character" as it was an alternate worlds story, anyway.) Hopefully I'll be able to do the same with the others. The other reason I like to write about them is that I like yuri. (Yuri is shoujo-ai or female/female relationships.) ::shrug:: (No, I'm not a lesbian. I'm engaged - yes, to a man. Stop asking.)
One thing I swear to God I will never never ever do in one of my fictions is write either of them pregnant. I'm sorry, but I can't stand stories where Michiru is pregnant with Haruka's child. As soon as I start reading one and I see something about Haruka lovingly placing her hands on Michiru's swollen stomach to feel the baby kick, I'm late for the door. It's not scientifically possible for two females to have children together! There has to be a male involved somewhere along the line. (And somehow I don't think they would go for that - Haruka in particular, judging from her attitude toward Seiya and her lukewarm tolerance for Mamoru - and that's just because he's their King.) What, just because they're women they have to have maternal instincts and a desire to procreate? Personally, I can't stand 99% of all children (that's as in, I can't stand 99 out of 100 children, not that I can't stand 99% of a particular child, like I can only tolerate their fingernails or something... ...heh, um, sorry, that didn't really need explanation I guess...), and don't plan to have any myself. Thankfully, my fiancé the Mattousai agrees with me. The only pitter-patter of little feet you'll hear from my house for a very long while is that of my cats - which I treat like my children. (And it's not really so much a "pitter-patter" as the sound a herd of buffalo makes during a stampede... Both my cats are fat and like to run up and down the stairs, usually at odd hours of the morning.) Aside from raising Hotaru - which was in a rather extreme situation - I might add, I can't picture Haruka and Michiru even wanting to have children.
I will also never write a fanfiction with "Amara" and "Michelle". I almost never read fanfiction myself, and the only good one I ever read that used their American dub names was the first fanfiction of a friend of mine, and she kept their original relationship instead of having them c-c-cousins... ::gags and shudders uncontrollably, falls off her chair and hits her head on her ficus tree before regaining consciousness and sitting down at the computer again like a good little webmistress:: (Usually, I wouldn't recommend using dubbed names with subbed relationships because it confuses newbies who think they really are cousins - and they start having nightmares about incest... But this one worked.)

I don't hate the dub. I didn't hate the DiC dub. I thought
I did, but I was wrong. I'm sorry, but the Cloverway dub is the most atrocious
thing I've ever heard - in fact, its twenty times worse than the shitty
Evangelion dub (and that was really bad) - though I think
it might be just about on par with the Yu Yu Hakusho dub ::curls up in a
little ball and sobs because of what they did to my beloved Kurama-sama::...
Personally, I think the only way the current dub could be worse is if they
did what Saban wanted to do to the series in the first place - make it a
politically-correct, half-live-action/half-animated hodgepodge that's a
freakishly demented shadow of the original plot-lines. (If you want to see
it, you can go to my page for it in the Downloads section and take
a peek - it's a creepy cross between She-Ra, Mighty Morphin'
Power Rangers, and The Babysitters Club. One of the girls is
Asian, one looks like a Mouseketeer, one's African-American, one's in a
wheelchair, and they're all scary. They even reanimated the whole damn thing
so it looks like Jem revisited, and the music is annoying as hell.
"Say-lor...Sailor Moo-oon...Say-lor..." Makes even CWi look like
a quality piece of work.)
Don't get me wrong - I'm immensely grateful to the people that dubbed it originally because it got me into the series. I never would have been acquainted with this awesome show, nor gotten into any other anime, nor found out about my favorite seiyuu (and had it turn into a complete obsession, as Cree and the Mattousai will attest to) if it weren't for me being introduced to it by the dub. The DiC dub was far from perfect. (Far.) But it looks almost pristine compared to the CWi dub. I'm so thankful that I got copies of the fan-subtitled S and SuperS before they were bought, as well as the Stars season... I know a lot of people think the dub is completely awesome, and trust me, I feel for you.
Besides, they're re-releasing the two original seasons, and have already started releasing the S and SuperS seasons, as well as the movies on DVD uncut in Japanese with subtitles so you can't say the dubs are all you have anymore. You have the option of going to Suncoast and grabbing a DVD and watching it in it's original uncut glory.
Regardless of what it may sound like, I don't hate all dubs... Well... OK so I'm really kind of lying. I don't hate everything about every dub - some have a few redeeming qualities (though some don't have any), but they all pale next to the original versions. And I do understand that, unfortunately, the dub is all some people have - if they're poor or live somewhere with no access to the Internet (or a credit card with which to buy things from the Internet) or somewhere that sells anime. They don't like it when others rip on their only means of seeing something, so I try not to do so, but when it comes to anything Amara, Michelle, or Trista, I simply must. I'm only human after all, and I have so few vices. Indugle me in this one.
It looks like Pioneer might dub Stars soon, and may re-dub the original two seasons for the DVD release (the whole SM community is completely divided on who it's going to be, if anyone at all - don't quote me on Pioneer anyway), so hopefully they'll do a better job. Lord knows this series deserves a good dub to be made of it. Flame me if you want, but I still stand where I do, and it won't get you anything but a derisive chuckle out of me. I don't force my opinions down anyone else's throats, and I don't want anyone else to do the same to me. I'm simply stating my opinion.
