The Engagement

Announcing the engagement of StarFire of Full Moon Over Crystal Tokyo to the Hitokiri Mattousai of The Heart Of A Marionette... The Mattousai and StarFire have been friends for almost four years now (though StarFire was a little mean for awhile there and refused to date him... Good thing he's persistent, ne? Of course he usually sees fit to remind her of this and she feels really bad...). They met at college, became friends over an HTML conversation, and finally started going out... Shortly thereafter, they decided they would like to spend the rest of their lives together, so getting engaged was the likely next step. (An added incentive is that they'll bothdouble their anime collections! ::lol:: Um...yeah. That's not the real reason, honest!)

The Wedding

They've set the date for Saturday, May 28, 2005 (after pushing it back twice due to financial difficulties - even having to go so far as to piss off the photographer and the banquet hall renal... o.O()) Even giving themselves so much time, they're going to be running around like crazy people making preparations... (And of course we'd love to invite all of you to drop by, but we think StarFire's parents would have a heart attack... And, no, we're not going to have an "anime-themed" wedding - both sets of parents would draw the line at that. And...seeing as how they're paying for most of the wedding, we don't really feel like inviting their wrath or any serious invitations to pay for our own wedding by ourselves... So we think we'll just leave it at that and stay in everyone's good graces that way! ...Then again, StarFire's mom and dad both said that they'll pay for EVERYTHING in the wedding, including the honeymoon if we go to Vegas and get married dressed as Klingons... Nah.)

StarFire is very happy because her bestest college bud ChibiCree (the third member of the staff of Anime Revolution) is going to be one of her bridesmaids! Cree had been trying to hook up the Mattousai and StarFire for the longest time... StarFire's just very very stubborn. But so is the Mattousai.

The hat? (o.O()) Quick, look at the chibi StarFire and Mattousai picture!! -Kawaii, ne? =^_^=- See the silly green fisherman's hat? That used to be StarFire's dad's hat before he "lent" it to her. (Which means, in StarFire terms, he gave it to her. She's forever stealing her dad's button-down dress shirts and his winter jackets...) The Mattousai used to wear a ratty old baseball cap constantly, and Cree and StarFire bet that he couldn't go an entire week without wearing it... So he stole StarFire's hat and wore it instead. He's been wearing it ever since. (But StarFire wishes he take it off sometimes cuz she really likes his hair. Hee hee. And just a reminder, Mattousai - you won't be able to wear that during the wedding!) OK, so he doesn't wear the GREEN fisherman hat anymore... It changed to a blue one from our friend Kim, and when his mom washed it and it shrunk, he switched to a new, not-so-ratty baseball cap... And StarFire still wishes he would take it off cuz she still likes his hair.

The first thing the Mattousai ever gave to StarFire was a rose on Valentine's Day in 2000... Since then he "lent" (see StarFire's definition of "lent" in The Hat section... ...Just kidding! ... ::grin::) StarFire his PlayStation for her dorm room... Needless to say, she still has it - well, we both do... But, more importantly, she still has the rose, too. Aww... Sentimentality so thick you could cut it with a knife... ::sniff::

By now we're sure you'll all sick to death of the mushy atmosphere, so we'll let you go on your way now. We just wanted to share our good fortune with all our loyal visitors!! (We will update this page as the wedding approaches, and afterwards we may even post some pictures or something... Maybe... If we're not feeling too self-conscious...)
